Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students walk into our school every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. They are ready for hands on learning, reading, music, science, math and much more!

I teach at a Title I school in North Carolina where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Many of our students receive backpack food on the weekend, and have limited experiences outside of class. Despite so many hardships, our students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful.

My Project

Having a Cricut machine and vinyl will allow my students to create T-shirts for special projects and school spirit. Working together on fun projects gives them a focus and creative outlet to succeed together. With direct instruction and teacher guidance, our students can be a part of creating our bulletin boards, t-shirts, Focus walls for all subjects!

I believe these items will give the extra motivation needed for engaging in challenging class projects.

I believe the creative process of designing our bulletin boards and class t-shirts will move them to exert the extra energy necessary for a great start and finish to our projects!
