I have been teaching for 18 years at the same school. Now I got the news that I am moving schools and I am so excited because I get to teach Dual language Polish Program. My students will learn how to read and write using both Polish and English languages at the same time.
Our district goal is to raise children who are bilingual.
I believe being bilingual is very beneficial for my students' future. Our new Dual Polish Program is very unique in the United States and I am glad I will be a part of it soon. I can't wait to meet my new 1st grade students.
My Project
I am so glad I am moving to a different school, however, many of the supplies and teaching tools I had accumulated over the years had to stay behind. I will need to relay on generous donors to help me set my new 1st grade class up for success.
My 1st grade students always gather on the carpet in front of an easel for different mini lessons.
The easel is a necessary teaching tool for teaching mini lessons on reading, writing, and math. Individual white write and answer boards are fun tools for purposeful practice following a teacher's explanation. The young students are excited to practice learned skills using the boards. In addition, we can save our planet by using less paper.
