"Mrs. Sale, this is an AWESOME novel," is the happy cheer I am privileged to hear from some amazing students in a small, rural Wilkes County, North Carolina school. They are fascinated to hear about the world around them, outside of a school with only 308 students and a little town next door that doesn't even have a stoplight!
My third and fourth graders are inquisitive, social, and love learning together about the world outside of Ronda!
These boys and girls love to explore different places, cultures, and have a passion for knowledge.
In our classroom, we have 7 fourth graders and 11 third graders. Although it has been challenging, these kids have learned so much from each other and amaze me daily!
Third and Fourth graders are social creatures! What better way to learn and expand ideas than to create an area in the classroom where students can meet and collaborate!
Students learn best through discussion and careful teacher guidance in small groups.
A kidney table is the perfect meeting place for students and the teacher to come together to discuss ideas we are studying. This resource would make a world of difference in creating an environment that encourages working together and sharing our personal knowledge and ideas.
Reading and math groups come alive in these areas because students and the teacher can discuss their ideas about new concepts in a comfortable setting.
