Help me give my students a comfortable and organized reading center with reading nook bookcases that will create an inviting space for students to spend time reading.
I have two amazing groups of kindergarten students in my morning and afternoon classes. They love learning, helping each other, and working together. Many of my students have experienced trauma in their lives. It is inspiring to watch them overcome the issues they have outside of the classroom and become excellent students.
I have a diverse group of learners.
Some of them came already reading. Others came not knowing the alphabet. I have students who started the year with little knowledge of English. They are not only becoming proficient in English, but they are also teaching their new friends word in their first language.
My students are extremely grateful for the things they are given. I love to give prizes and am always surprised by how many students will draw pictures for me to show thanks for their prizes. They also like to give each other special pictures and crafts that they make in our art center at school.
It is a joy to spend time with these amazing kids every day!
My Project
Our classroom is full of energetic students who love spending time looking at books but have trouble organizing the books and putting them back correctly. This reading nook will create a defined reading space with plenty of shelves for our classroom books. Students will love spending time relaxing and reading on the cute built-in benches. I will love having a place that is easily accessible for students to not only find books, but also to put them away correctly and easily. This project will help my little learners be even more excited about reading and sharing the books they find with other students.
