I teach at a low-income school in Phoenix, Arizona. My students come from varying backgrounds. Every kid in my class is developing his or her skills of speaking, reading, and writing the English language. Many go through some challenging situations at home, but even with the adversities they face, these kids are highly motivated 5 and 6-year-olds.
My kindergartners are brilliant, well behaved, and kind.
I am completely blessed a million times over and wouldn't trade them for anything.
Everything we do in kindergarten starts right in front of the teacher on the classroom carpet. Where do the students listen to stories? Where do they see modeled writing and chant poems? Where do they sit during our brain breaks? Where do they sing sight word songs? It all happens on the colorful rug!
It may look like another piece of our classroom, but it is where a lot of the magic happens.
Our current rug is filthy. I've had it for several years. It has been cleaned multiple times, and the stains just aren't coming out. I need one that is sturdy, more stain resistant and has more spaces. Currently, I have 5 students without their own spots.
Please make our dream of having a nice clean, organized space for learning come true!
