Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a group of highly motivated learners who are eager to gain more confidence in utilizing technology to achieve success. My class is a diverse group of learners from various ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses. I have English language learners, GATE, and students with special needs.
Our school is comprised of a beautiful combination of a highly dedicated staff that strives for excellence, hardworking students, and highly engaged parents, earning our school a National Blue Ribbon award.
We maintain an excellent relationship with a very supportive population of parents.
My Project
Our classroom has almost reached our goal of providing 1:1 access to technology! We are in need of 2 more Chromebooks to reach this goal. Half of the devices we currently have available are very old laptops that are starting to not work properly, which leaves the students very frustrated.
We use Chromebooks throughout the entire day to provide students with a curriculum that is engaging and enables them to grow in the skills necessary to be successful 21st Century learners.
Our students currently have to share devices with other students, which doesn't allow for maximum access to the technology.
Students are collaborating through Google Classroom, researching for Science and Social Studies, preparing student led conference presentations to present to their families, getting targeted support for math and language arts concepts, and so much more.
