My students need a set of Chromebooks so that they can fully engage in our new science curriculum. Our school is adopting a new science program that is both hands-on and technology based.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My science classroom is designed to be interactive and hands-on. Every day, my students get to design and implement experiments that answer questions about physics, chemistry and environmental science. My students are challenged to ask questions and stand by their convictions!
We are an inner city school located in the heart of a culturally rich neighborhood of Chicago.
My students are a mix of African American and Latino youth who come from low income homes, but are eager to overcome the odds. Every year, I have an amazing, diverse group of learners who are eager to succeed.
My Project
We have a new curriculum that requires the use of technology on a daily basis. My science class requires all students to work with hands-on materials, use technology to research, complete simulations, and engage in tons of engineering projects based on a comprehensive set of science topics such as biological, physical and environmental science. Unfortunately, we have to share computers with other grades which makes teaching without interruption difficult. It would be great if my students had a set of classroom Chromebooks of their own. This way, we could fully implement the videos, labs, research, engineering projects and presentations without interruption.
