Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I truly believe my terrific, inquisitive 3rd graders are capable of reaching their academic goals. I love seeing their faces light up as they learn new math, science, and literacy skills.
My students live in and attend school in a high poverty area and many come from single parent families who can't afford life essentials such as food, clothing, and shelter.
At our school, 100% of the students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Despite the challenges of poverty, they arrive at school eager and ready for the day's lessons and projects.
My Project
My awesome students are enthusiastic learners with lots of potential, but we lack resources to expand students' critical thinking skills. With your help I'd like to bring computer coding to students, many of which do not have access at home to a computer or the internet and never had the opportunity to learn computer coding skills.
My students are eager learners and need a new challenge to continue to grow.
The Botley Coding Robot Activity Pack is a valuable resource my students will love and use to learn to expand upon their critical thinking skills. My goal is use Botley the Coding Robot to inspire my students learn to love education as they develop their computer coding and thinking skills which will lead in success in all subjects.
Botley incorporates robotics in education and the activity pack gives students the opportunity to learn coding and gives insight on robotics. Botley will be a great incentive for my beginner coding students to earn coding time, which will be especially fun using a robot. Students will learn to work in teams, learn to design and create coding, and build and solve projects.
