My students need a pulley set, planks, blocks, gears, and other resources to help them think critically, problem solve through the engineering design process, and collaborate with each other while learning state standards in physics, literature, and mathematics!
My school provides a learning environment where students discover, embrace, and integrate authentic learning experiences to create and design real-world applications of their knowledge. My students are amazing 10 year olds that think creatively and embrace new challenges. They come from all walks of life and deserve the very best education I can provide them! Coupled with dynamic teacher instruction, our students explore real challenges and create solutions and share in front of authentic audiences, such as partnerships in community and community exhibit nights.

My Project
Crazy Contraptions is a project I have designed for my students to help learn about simple machines, force and motion, and applied physics along with computer science.
Students will build a contraption (think Rube Goldberg Machines) that will kick off a Sphero (robotic ball) that is coded to complete a maze.
I have the Spheros but do not have any other materials to bring this project to life!
Please help fund some of these items so that I can help my students learn in meaningful ways! These kits, tools, and resources will help me bring education to a whole new level for my students. I need items that are meaningful, engaging, and not just a computer screen or new app to learn these standards. The items included in this project are all resources needed to build amazing contraptions. Dominos can help start a chain reaction, marble mazes will help my students learn about Newton's 3 laws while also discovering friction and gravity concepts. The blocks and wooden planks will help support the structures my students need to build a maze for the robotic ball they will have to code. Most importantly, the simple machines sets will help my students learn about simple machines instead of having to read about them from a textbook! All of these items will help support my students in successfully applying state standards in an engaging way which they will remember for the rest of their life!
