Our elementary school is a public, Title I school. Six hundred, sixty-nine students attend our school and identify primarily as White, non-Hispanic; Black, non-Hispanic; and Asian/Pacific Islander. Forty-eight percent of the 669 students here are paying reduced lunch prices. The student to teacher ratio is 14:1. The 669 students have varying needs and are a diverse group of learners. My students benefit from the use of technology and the differentiated learning styles offered.
"We believe that all children should have an equal opportunity to experience the joy of learning and to achieve their fullest potential." This is the vision statement at our school.
The dedicated staff of our school, together with a supportive community, is committed to providing an innovative, standards-based curriculum that promotes social and academic growth designed to prepare students to be responsible, contributing citizens of the 21st Century.
We are proud of our various awards and recognition, which include National Blue Ribbon, Red Carpet Schools, Palmetto Gold, Reading Renaissance and Honor Roll School, to name a few. To continue this growth and history of excellence, we strive to find and implement the latest technology in our classroom setting.
My Project
My students will greatly benefit from the use of a Chromebook in the classroom! In an ever-changing world, I aspire to give my children the absolute best in order for them to become life long learners. Having access to a Chromebook in our classroom will help to differentiate instruction and make them all active, engaged 21st century learners! This Chromebook will literally put the world at their fingertips! Our school recently became AdvancED STEM certified. It is imperative for our students to have access to the latest technology at all times throughout our school day to ensure they are constantly engaged in their learning.
