Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Teachers who love teaching, teach children who love learning."
As I enter my twentieth year of teaching, I continue to follow this mantra in my classroom.
I teach 30 wonderful students who come from poverty. My students are extremely motivated, and they are genuinely respectful of each other. They are lovers of learning, and I am truly grateful to be their teacher this year. They come to school with smiles on their faces, and they are eager to learn. They are from varying ethnic backgrounds. Most of them come from homes that are struggling financially. My school families are struggling to do e-learning because they lack the necessary school supplies at home.
During this difficult time of e-learning, my students need school supplies, such as crayons to use at home. I am providing my students with math videos of my teaching online. The students are then asked to complete an assignment. These crayons will be used to brighten up their math assignments.
My Project
My first graders and I are having a very successful school year so far. The students have been learning how to add and subtract numbers to 10, count and write to 100, compare numbers, and many more things. We are in need of crayons to ensure we continue to have a successful school year learning math while doing e-learning at home. The students will use these crayons to add color to their math assignments. The students will use these crayons to illustrate fun math pictures. One of the projects coming up soon is to draw 2 Dimensional and 3 Dimensional shapes they find around their house or around the neighborhood. These crayons will brighten up their pictures of street cones, stop signs, basketballs, cereal boxes, candles, and many other 2D and 3D shapes.
Students should have crayons at home to brighten up their e-learning math assignments.
Please help me in supporting my students with the necessary materials they need for learning while at home.
