Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My children are the best! They love to learn and are so interested in new things especially reading and writing. Due to their age, they need much practice to master their skills. My students are in an inner city school where all receive free lunch and many speak a language other than English at home. Many of their families work two to three jobs in order to make ends meet. They are delightful and enjoy hands on learning materials. My children especially enjoy coloring.

My Project

Children in Kindergarten love to color. This helps to strengthen their hand muscles and increase their creativity and hand eye co-ordination.

Coloring is something the children do every day several times a day.

Crayons are used in every subject including reading, writing, math, science and social studies.

As the year progresses, more colors and sizes are introduced. This helps the children be more creative and they like the thinner crayons with a wider choice of colors.

The children love getting new crayons to use and like using a variety of colors as they get older and more mature in their coloring.
