My students are from a small rural community. Our focus is on student-centered education. This is the first year that a Pre-K program is offered to the community through the school system. My desire is for my students to walk into my classroom excited and ready to learn each day. I want to provide the best possible education for all the students coming into my classroom. Our goal is to set the students up for success in Kindergarten next year.
Our school desires to provide student-centered education that will lead to them to become life-long learners.
Our school serves students Pre-K through 2nd and provides excellent education from dedicated teachers and staff in a safe and encouraging learning environment. Our motto is "nothing less than our personal best, learning together to achieve success." That is my focus every day in my classroom and with my students.
My Project
Arts and crafts time is a daily occurrence in our classroom. My students love to get messy and creative in the classroom. Music is also a important part of our Pre-K curriculum. Music is a way for students to begin to understand different concepts in an age appropriate way.
These art and craft and musical supplies will help my students express their creativity.
The value dough will be used to help the children fine tune their fine motor skills. They will specifically be using it to roll into long lines to create shapes, numbers, and letters, as well as creative art opportunities. The flip crayons and golf pencils will be used with our Handwritng Without Tears curriculum. The students will use these developmental appropriate crayons and pencils to begin writing. Besides listening to music, the CD and cassette player offers the students will be listening to books on tape/C.D to help them in their reading fluency.
