We are an all-girls public STEM school in California. We have girls from every direction of the city, creating a uniquely diverse student body.
These girls like school and love being smart.
They each chose to attend this school before the school even existed. They believed in the vision of our principal and they signed up. The girls and their families have worked tirelessly to prepare the school to open this August. As a new school with limited resources, there is much we need.
My Project
As a child of the 1970s, I vividly remember the thrill of watching a Shrinky Dink transform before my eyes. After carefully drawing and coloring the artwork, there came that magical moment of closing the toaster oven window and watching. Help me bring Shrinky Dinks into our sixth grade elective wheel classes (all sixth grade students participate in this class).
Students also learn the science behind Shrinky Dinks and the inspiring story of the two moms who invented the Shrinky Dinks company from their kitchen in 1973.
GALA girls are creative and artistic, imagine the possibilities of what they may (and will) create: bookmarks, keyring, bracelets, and trinkets.
