Kindergarten is the place where learning begins and is a magical year that opens many doors to education! My kindergarteners come eager and ready to learn!
The first years in school help foster growth in responsible independence.
Our school, in addition to being a traditional neighborhood school, is also an ESOL school (English as a Second Language). The school population is very diverse consisting of families from all social backgrounds, ethnicities and cultures with classes that begin in Pre-Kindergarten and continue through to the 8th grade.
Kindergarten is where my students learn how to cut, color, glue, and use their imagination. Our class usually does a craft of some sort to apply what we have learned in class and make it come to life. Our school resources are limited. By having construction paper, wiggle eyes, cardstock, ink for the printer, and crayons will help students not only strengthen or develop fine motor skills. These materials will also allow my students the opportunity to create something to take home and share with their families. Students will have a visual aid to share with friends and help them remember what is being taught at school. My kindergartners love using their imagination and creating many different crafts.
