My school is in the heart of an urban district where there are a variety of challenges young students have to deal with on a daily basis. However, these students come to school each day ready to face other challenges they may endure during school hours. It is my hope that I can give them what they need in the classroom setting.
I want each student to come to school each day knowing they will be successful in the work they do.
I work with 30 amazing students that are eager to learn and be successful throughout their schooling. I want them to have what I had growing up, a love for learning and a love for school.
My Project
I am starting up a crafting club after school for girls in grade 3-5. This type of club was in high demand and I wanted to be able to give my students what they want. However, I am very limited in the materials I have to use to create an engaging, exciting, and beautiful craft.
After the school day ends, students will be able to come to my room and gain enriched experiences with their friends while having fun creating crafts!
I will be able to bond with my students over conversation instead of academics with these supplies. Girls in grades 3-5 love making slime, painting, coloring, and using their hands to create a piece of art. I would love to be able to be that person that helps them follow their interests.
These crafting supplies will start our club off strong and have girls leaving being excited for our next meeting date!!!
