My Students

What makes our school unique is definitely our students. Coming from all walks of life, they each represent an important piece to our puzzle of learning. Although they represent a variety of backgrounds, the one thing that is consistent is their desire to be at school. Our students have recorded an average daily attendance rate of 95%!

I have the opportunity every single day to interact with 730 fantastic middle schoolers!

I consider myself to have one of the best jobs at our school! I teach the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program at our school. In addition to teaching concepts like engineering and design, I also get to build positive relationships with our students, while stretching their minds and challenging them to be critical thinks and problem-solvers.

My Project

I am requesting two Sphero SPRK robots to help teach middle school students coding. The robots will be used in my STEM classroom and will serve 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Students will code the robots to carry out specific tasks or to navigate through a given scenario. In addition, students will build communication and collaboration skills as they work with others to solve the task. Putting their problem solving, communication, and team-working skills to the test, they will work together to accomplish their assigned task!

Staying growth-mindset focused, they will continue to persevere until all objectives have been completed.
