Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are respectful, hardworking, and deserving of a great classroom experience despite the negative critiques from surrounding cities. They come from a highly diverse but lower socioeconomic area. Students at DVHS yearn for real-world job skills and certifications preparing them for their college experience and career.

My students are hard working and they deserve the chance to obtain CPR certifications without having to pay obscene fees to do it.

They help run a preschool onsite at DVHS for children ages 3-5 living in the community. Every day they excel at creating lesson plans and having great, positive interactions with the children. This will further their skills and prepare them to work in the preschool.

My Project

My program is focused on career technical education. Part of that is offering experience and education related to a specific career field, in this case, working with children. We want our students to be college and career ready and we can do that by giving them the opportunity to obtain CPR certification. My students, unfortunately, can not afford the training kits. And while I can certify them myself, I cannot provide the kits. Having these kits will allow them to go through the cert process and have a skill they can list on a resume. While I can certify them myself, I cannot provide the kits.
