My students are energetic and eager to learn four year olds and this is the first experience with school most in my class have had! My students love to play games, act silly, sing and dance to music. We have really been enjoying learning to build structures in our blocks area, using manipulatives in our math area, and letting our creativity run wild in both our art area and our dramatic play area. Some things we are getting used to are our rules and procedures, learning our friends' and teachers' names, figuring out our way around the school, and how our specials go!
In our class, we are working on fostering a love of books and becoming emergent readers.
In order to help set the foundation for successful readers, we need help cozying up our library area and our quiet cube!
In PreK, we are learning so many skills and have various areas dedicated to fostering specific sets of skills. We would like to enhance our library area with comfy, cozy, soft seating options so it is a place students really look forward to going to.
The pillows will be perfect for reading with a partner, while the cushions are the best fit when a child wants to read independently.
We are looking forward to being able to witness the emergent print concepts the students begin to grasp more as they explore books on their own on a daily basis in the library area!
