I have a group of 22 students. Currently that consists of 15 boys, and 7 girls! Having that many boys in a class can seem a bit crazy, but it is a lot of fun! Most of these kids have been together since kindergarten, and know each other pretty well, and also participate in extracurricular activities together. They’re the sweetest group of students, and I’m excited to come to work every single day!
My students love to read, we even have a little friendly Accelerated Reader competition going on in class!
They are always asking for even more reading time, and I would love to give them the resources to make our class library rock!
My Project
Keeping a student engaged is a crucial part of the reading process. In my classroom, I want my students to feel comfortable enough to cozy up with a good book anywhere in my room! These books and bean bags will do just that!
I want students to have books that they actually want to read, and I want them to feel excited about it!
Currently, I have books in my own classroom library, students have either read them all or they don't feel very appealing to them.
These materials will help provide a comfortable atmosphere to read around our room, along with new and entertaining books.
The books I have chosen in the project, are books these kids request often along with a few others that I know they will enjoy. The chairs included are comfortable bean bag chairs. The kids will love relaxing and enjoying a book in these!
