We are a close-knit, school in an urban area.
In my classroom my mission is to promote imagination, engagement, and creativity among my students. As a diverse group, coming from many different backgrounds, we find classroom community to be one of our top priorities. We read books from all different genres. We explore and experiment during science. We use inquiry and critical thinking during math. At recess we play hard and in the classroom we work hard. I work with an amazing group of students that truly love coming to school.
My Project
My classroom is full of readers. They genuinely love finding a new and exciting book that they can jump into and explore.
These brand new books will open up new worlds for each of my students.
They are a variety of genres, and formats that each child can enjoy. I chose books for this project that my students have requested or titles that I know they will really enjoy. Each book in my classroom will impact my current students, and each student I have to come.
The new furniture I requested include a bookshelf and a few flexible seating options. The shelf will hold all of our new titles and create a new space in our library. The new comfy floor seats will provide a place for the children to cozy up with that special book and read. I want to make reading exciting and seating choices welcoming for each friend in my class.
