My students need this listening center with audiobooks and speakers to follow along and hear what fluent reading sounds like at their own pace!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 4th-grade students can be described by the 3c's: creative, curious, and courageous. They have faced and encountered many hardships and difficulties in their young lives, the most recent was the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey.
My students have dealt with the recovery of this storm with promise and hope for the future.
They come to school each day ready to learn and explore the world around them. Their passion for learning inspires me to be the best teacher I can be!
My Project
My project will be to establish a listening center for my classroom. This center will allow students to listen and enjoy literature that may not be at the student's reading level.
Listening to an audiobook can help the book come to life for a reader!
Not all 4th-grade students read the same. Some students come to 4th grade reading below grade level. Listening to these stories can help to reinforce fluent reading and promote new vocabulary. The audiobook set and CD player with headphones will help those struggling readers to enjoy books that they may not have been able to read.
