Cozy Seating and STEM Learning for Little Learners
Help me give my students flexible seating options and STEM activities to aid them in their play and learning at school. Young children learn best in social play experiences and these materials will support that.
My classroom consists of a combination of pre-k 3 and pre-k 4 students. Many of my students come from low-income backgrounds and coming to school is a safe place for them to explore learning in a fun and developmentally appropriate way.
Also, about half of my students are being prepared to go to kindergarten the next year.
We are a NASA and STEM school and so much of what we do is exploratory and hands-on. I love seeing each student master new skills and I enjoy coming up with new ways to help them succeed. My students spend the majority of their day at school and deserve to have all that I can offer them.
My Project
The items in this project will help my young students have hands-on manipulatives to use on a daily basis for both social and academic growth. Play is the best way for young children to learn new skills and this project will enable me to provide various opportunities to learn new skills.
Developmentally appropriate hands-on learning activities provide young children with the opportunity to try out skills and ideas in a relaxed and fun manner.
The two options for comfortable seating will provide students working on the floor different options to make them comfortable within the classroom and away from home which can be young for little learners.
