My students need 2 bean bag chairs for their cozy reading corner.
What better way is there to read than when you are cozy and comfortable. And a cozy reading corner will provide just that with bean bag chairs.
I teach fourth grade in a rural community in South Carolina.
We have recently been designated as a Title 1 school due to our schools demographics. We have over 90% of our school population that receives free and reduced lunches. Many of our children are considered to live well below the poverty level and we are experiencing more and more families that are homeless.
This year I have implemented a new reading program, Daily Five and the Cafe Menu, that calls for reading centers. I have established several centers where students are engaged in reading but I am lacking a cozy space for children to read. With two bean bag chairs and a rug that I already have, I can make a cozy corner for my children to read while becoming proficient readers.

A cozy place to read could make the difference between a mediocre reader and a proficient reader.
