This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The graphic novels and bookshelf requested in my project will provide my students with a cozy reading corner/in-class library. Access to graphic novels that my students enjoy will encourage my students to find joy in reading in their free time. Access to these books will impact my students’ learning, especially those who are struggling readers, and will promote and encourage literacy.

My main goal for this project is to set up a reading nook in my classroom that is dedicated to graphic novels, where my students can check-out books to bring home and read in their free time.

What makes my students special is their uniqueness. Every single student has their own story and they love to express themselves in their own ways. They are so vocal and advocate for themselves, which is major! I love how ELA and reading brings out their opinions, thoughts, and challenges them to challenge the world.
