My Students

My third graders are super creative and love hands on activities. Most of my students come from low income homes and enjoy coming to school to learn! I want to give them as many learning experiences as possible to help them guide their future.

Many of my students have experienced difficult life situations.

I want to be able to give my students a classroom environment that is comfortable for them. No matter what they have gone through, I want them to feel comfortable and give them a safe space in my classroom. Each one of my students comes with something unique about them.

My Project

Independent reading time is a very important part of our day! I want my students to have flexible seating in the classroom during this time. Flexible seating allows students to choose where they want to sit in the classroom during this time. Currently, my students love sitting in the library, but making sure my students are comfortable is essential in motivating them to read. My students love the fact that they have the ability to move about the classroom to find a quiet area. Allowing more comfortable space, with a cozy reading corner classroom carpet, and more options within the classroom to quietly read will help support their independent reading time.
