My Students
We are one of two pre-k classrooms in our school. Our class consists of 20 students from very diverse backgrounds and academic levels. Our school is considered a high poverty school and due recent budget cuts, resources have become few and far between leaving me to purchase many items out of pocket.
My classroom provides my students an opportunity to learn in a variety of ways through songs, dance, play, direct instruction, books, manipulatives and technology.
I would like an opportunity to provide my students with a wider range of resources to meet their individual academic, cognitive, and social needs.
My Project
I want to make a library center that is inviting and cozy. Students can lounge around on each a bean bag and look and talk about books that I've read to them.
These bean bag chairs will make the space look inviting and will be a comfortable place for them to sit while they enjoy reading or having conversations with each other.
After sitting on their spot for teaching time, they will love lounging on these bean bag chairs and hanging out with their friends while enjoying their play time. I hope it encourages them to grab a good book.
