This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to learn and are excited about beginning their school journey. Many of them have not been in a school setting before and are nervous and excited. Their creativity and thirst for knowledge was viisible in my first encounters with them. Their families have been eager to meet me and learn more about my classroom and where they will be spending a huge part of their day. I am excited for my students to have a successful year!

My Project

My class will spend much of their instructional time sitting on the rug. When I read stories this is the place they will find comfort to relax and enjoy the story. This rug will help the feeling of the room and will be inviting for kids to want to sit and have a successful day. Most of my kids come from low income families, and it will be nice for them to have a big, clean, bright and cheery rug to sit on. I know my students would be incredibly greatful for a new rug and would enjoy their time there.
