My students need a Comfy Couch, bean bag chair, and comfy chair.
This project expired on October 8, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students need somewhere to lay their head and body. When you are tired you want to relax on a nice comfy couch or in a soft chair. I need to provide that safe space for relaxed reading. I need your help!
I teach a PALS class with age ranges from 3-5 years old children.
We are a Title I school, the students in my class have a range of disabilities, from Down Syndrome, Autism, Global delay, and speech language disorder. But, they are all incredible, unique learners with the willingness to shine as individuals!
My students learn best when we capture their innate curiosity and use it to fuel their development.
Each of my students are special in their own way; we differentiate instruction for each student across all domains of development. We individualize each of their learning. From learning how to talk, to using a fork and spoon, to building the social skills to participate in games with their peers - each student in my class truly thrives from the best interventions.
My students want to relax sometimes in the classroom when things become overwhelming for them, especially when a desk chair just won't due. The comfy couch and bean bag chair are the much neeeded addition to our classroom. Although a pillow provides some comfort at times they would like a corner of the library where they can sit, read and have a safe place with real furniture in their classroom.
New furniture that is on their level will provide that safe environment for them to clear their mind and use their imagination in the library when they need time to be alone.
