My Students

We are a Title I school where 80% of our students fall below the poverty level and are also bilingual. Sixty percent of our students also currently have IEP's, these students come to see me because they have mandated counseling. Many students in our population seek out someone to help with a particular issue, to come up with strategies to get back to the classroom or work on social emotional strategies which has become a major focus for our school district.

My Project

I am trying to create a more cozy and nurturing atmosphere for my young counseling students to be able to open up during their sessions. I am looking for comfortable seating for these younger students since the furniture currently in the room leaves them hanging on the table and off the chairs. These multi adjustable floor seats are perfect for floor activities like games, drawing or just being able to talk and share. As a counselor it is very important that the atmosphere that I create for my students is one in which they can feel comfortable, safe and nurtured.
