In a thriving school of about 700 students, I teach computer skills to all grades who range from high achieving to limited English (ELL) students. We are also privileged to serve military families and children of Barksdale Air Force Base Airmen. Each student helps diversify our population, bringing in knowledge and experience of various cultures and traditions.
No matter the academic or ability level, all of my students have different learning styles that I strive to meet every day.
In return, our students work hard to learn and grow in their academics each day, completing STEM activities, RTI rotations, and computer-based math lessons, leading our school to be a "B" school!
Although this school year will be much different as we embark on a new journey of virtual learning and face-to-face instruction, I’m ready to meet these kids and make this an amazing year!
My Project
I see around 700 students each week in my classroom for enrichment class. I mainly teach computer skills through Chromebooks and Google everything, but sometimes I have kiddos that come see me to just unwind and have quiet time. Right now these kids have to sit at a table in regular, hard chairs. I would love to provide them a place to relax and unwind with a book or magazine from my reading shelf.
I need comfy, fun seating for my classroom for students to come and relax, unwind, and READ, READ, READ!
Sometimes kids just need a break from everything, especially technology! These bean bag chairs and gaming seats will provide an opportunity for just that.
