Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to make my classroom a comfortable and cozy environment for my kids to be able to enjoy for the 40 minutes I have them every single day.
My students are clever, spontaneous, and hard working.
My school is predominantly Hispanic and as an ELD teacher, I have the wonderful opportunity to help my students learn and grow their English Language skills. They are eager to see what the day holds and what they will be taught next!
My Project
The use of floor pillows will allow all the students in my classes to be able to comfortably sit and read during their time in the classroom. My students work very hard and at the end of class if we finish 5-10 minutes early they are allowed to grab a book and sit on the bean bag chairs. Unfortunately, right now there are only two so some of my kids have to lay on the carpet or sit in a regular chair.
Your generous donation will to our project will let my kids see that I want them to enjoy coming to ELL and feel comfortable while learning.
I'm looking forward to seeing my kids be happy and comfortable while reading. A little appreciation for my students could go a long way and make all the difference!
