My students come to school excited and eager to learn. They are ready to experience everything first grade can offer. Part of my job is to provide tools for learning to help enhance their education.
I am a first grade teacher at an awesome school!
We are located in a rural, high needs area, with a very large percentage of students who receive free or reduced price lunch. My students come from differing family and educational backgrounds, but all of my students come to school with great attitudes and are ready to learn. Teaching is my passion, and I want to do whatever I can to make this year great and for all my students to be successful.
My Project
My students and I spend the majority of our week together in our classroom. I am excited to share this project that will help me create a warm and inviting space for my students to learn in and feel at home. When a child's basic needs are met (food, clothing, safety) they are able to learn!
By creating an inviting physical space, I am also creating a space conducive to learning.
I will use the lamp, chairs, plant hangers, and greenery to create a cozy reading space in our library center . The paper and bulletin boarder will be added to our boards to display student work. The large storage cart will be used daily to hold our math center materials.
