This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Help give my students a comfortable place around the room to read and a place to sit near our board. When our projectors were swapped out for smart screens, the screens were placed in the corners of our classrooms. Currently, my fifth graders all pile into the corner and sit on the floor to see any videos or digital notes.
Help add cozy carpets to our classroom for students to sit on.
This will not only give them a soft place to curl up and read in the back of my room and a comfortable place to take notes, but it will also help our classroom feel more like a warm and welcoming place to explore and learn.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
