My students need a large classroom carpet in order to have a comfortable space for lesson time, classroom meetings, and as an area to complete tasks and projects.
Our 3rd grade is departmentalized and I am the teacher of Science & Math. My students are inquisitive, full of energy and excitement about learning all things, including the "hard things". Our class motto is "I don't know how to do this.....YET"! They love hands on projects and activities that make learning fun and engaging. I promote a class family/community and build strong relationships within my classroom. I feel relationships and engagement are essential in order to encourage every student to come to school each day ready to try new things.
Each child in my classroom loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn can vary greatly.
I incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, tasks, flexible seating, and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
My Project
Our Math & Science class time include classroom meetings, whole group lessons, work tasks, projects, and centers that aren't effectively (or comfortably) completed while sitting at desks. My students need an area in the classroom where they can comfortably sit, off of the tile floor, in order to complete our daily activities.
By donating to this project, you will not only help provide a comfortable area for students to be engaged in lessons and tasks, but you will also be increasing our classroom culture/community.
The STEM themed carpet I have selected will support our Math & Science classroom with the use of STEM vocabulary and scientific/mathematical tools that are showcased on the carpet. The bright colors will add warmth to the classroom and allow the students to feel like it is their "home away from home". The large space the carpet will cover will allow for flexible seating options.....beyond a desk!
