My Project

I am a special education teacher who works with students from kindergarten through fifth grade, who have behavioral and social-emotional needs, many who have experienced trauma. I work with some of the most amazing students but they are also the students who need the most help.

Most of my students struggle with being able to regulate their bodies and these materials will help me create a cozy, calming corner where they can relax and reset.

Being able to create a corner in my room where students can read a calming book, access fidgets and weighted toys and other sensory tools, will provide a place where they can take a break. Life is hard for many of my students, so I'm trying to make school a place they feel safe, welcomed and wanted.
