My students are so inquisitive and curious about the world around them. They love to cozy up and look at pictures, read books, listen to stories and learn about the world around them!
My classroom is filled with Special Education students on the Autism Spectrum.
They have specific wants and needs and will be overly excited by the addition of a cozy book nook to our classroom. These students light up my world and I can't wait to see their curiosity continue to grow.
In my classroom, the students need a cozy space to read their books. I need a rug for that space that is bright and colorful so that the students are enticed to go to the cozy book nook area. I also need a child-sized bookshelf that the students can engage and take books out when wanted. The comfy couch, pillows, and bean bag chairs will provide seating in this area. I am also asking for guided reading level A books to start my library in this new classroom. This area will be inviting to all the students in my class and will be an excellent place for them to go to when they need to relax and unwind and be able to self-regulate.
