My students need rugs, beanbags, wobble seats, and headphones to make our reading center more inviting, comfortable, and functional. We also need a pencil sharpener.
My students love to read! I want to encourage this love of reading by developing a cozy, inviting reading center within our classroom.
Our school is considered to be high poverty with many at-risk students.
Ten out of twenty of my students are receiving Title I services to help them become stronger, more successful readers. This reading corner will provide a space in our classroom for students to be excited to read.
My Project
During reading centers and small group time, my students love to spread out around the classroom. I would like some rugs and chairs to make this more comfortable for my students. During this time, students also work on computers and independent writing activities. We need sturdy headphones that can be used while students are listening to books on computers. We also need a pencil sharpener for students to sharpen their pencils independently, while I am working with small groups of students.
I am asking for a variety of different supplies to help make the reading center in my classroom more functional and inviting.
These supplies will help my students continue their excitement for reading.
