Cozy and Comfy Read to Self Time

My Project

My class loves to read! We have a small classroom with 26 students, a teacher, and a paraprofessional to assist my special needs students. I am looking to create a flexible reading space that can be set up in any corner of the classroom. The floor pillows will give the students a private space to focus on independent reading, and help them build their reading skills and stamina. In addition, the fidgeting and building toys will be great for all of my students to stimulate their brains during downtime. I have an autistic student and a student with Down syndrome who love to hold and touch things, which helps ground them. Lastly, we clean our desks weekly and use many Clorox wipes. This helps the students take pride in their classroom, and teaches them the value of keeping their environment clean and organized.
