Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class is composed of 55 fifth graders in a general education class, with students with IEP and ELL learners and special education students such as those with autism.
The students in my classroom are motivated, loving, and hardworking!
They are imaginative and creative! Most of my students however, come from low income families. The opportunity and achievement gaps are apparent among our student population.
My class is composed with ten students with disabilities. My students have made great strides in the school year. My students are of African-American and Hispanic descent with 99% of them receiving free or reduced school meals.
Our school is located in a high poverty, industrial neighborhood surrounded by factories and nonstop high traffic. Nevertheless, they are excited about learning and they come to school every day with hope, expectation and enthusiasm.
This project is in desperate in need of amazing supporters as yourself. My students are in a desperate need of tools that they do not have in the classroom.

Urgent Coronavirus Response: Help teachers get key resources to students at home.
Coronavirus has closed schools across the country.
Right now, teachers need to get supplies in the hands of students at home to keep them learning, especially in our country’s highest-need communities. I am one of the many teachers that are worried that school closings are going to hurt my students’ learning.
Which is why I believe in blended Learning integrating technology.
Help me give my students online assignments thru blended learning. Due to current health crisis it is vital that I have an ipad at home so that I can assign, teach and assess students via technology.
This ipad will make a difference in student learning because it will enable them to continue learning even when I’m not able to come to school and/or when they are unable to come to school. With the use of a ipad for use at my home, I will be able to teach mandated curriculum via online blended learning. Students are highly engaged with technology and respond well with school-based programs that I will be able to assign for student home use. Our world is changing and this will help students continue to learn in spite of recent health crisis.
The mission of my school is to provide a challenging environment that promotes learning and achievement for all students. Approximately 2/3 of my students are assessing at or above grade level. The remainder of the class is performing below grade level in reading and or math. Federal regulations mandate that teachers meet the learning needs of EACH student. Having accessibility to technology, in the classroom, will aid in doing so.
