Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our ICT classroom consists of many hardworking, motivated, kind, and appreciative students. They are supportive of one another, and have a positive outlook on school. They come each day eager to learn and are receptive to feedback from their teachers.
Despite the shift to remote learning, our students have not given up in the least!
A majority of the students log in to Google Classroom each day, ask questions, and are diligent in completing their classwork.
Our Title 1 school is located in Corona, Queens (the epicenter of the pandemic), and consists of more than 90% low-income families. They desperately need access to technology, as many students are completing their work on a cell phone that they share amongst the family. To ensure their continued success, we are asking for a donation of Chromebooks to be distributed to the neediest families. Please help us to keep our precious students from falling behind. My Project
These Lenovo Chromebooks will help our students to complete their Google Classroom reading, writing, and math assignments with greater ease and independence.
Some students have nothing but a cellphone that they share with their siblings to complete their homework, which makes remote learning even more stressful.
Additionally, without updated, reliable technology, they will not be able to access helpful educational apps, such as Imagine Learning, as well as our reading and math curriculum website, Think Central. Think Central has many helpful features that are not user friendly when working on a cellphone. Please help us ensure that their education is not interrupted, due to a lack of technology.
