This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work at a title one school, where the majority of students come from low income areas. They are from all walks of life, some deal with homelessness, lack of food, and proper clothing. While these children deal with many serious issues at home, they come to school and often don't want to leave and are ready and excited to learn.
Our students are loving and are excited to help others and be Leaders.
We have a very large population of special needs students as well, many with emotional disorders, keeping them engaged in lessons helps to cut down on melt downs and behavior issues. We have a powerful group of students willing to fight hard for their success.
My Project
Many of my title 1 students do not have basic supplies to make art in their homes. Please consider donating so that my students can continue to be creative at home. During these stressful times, it is great for kids and parents for some creativity to occur.
It is impossible for students to participate if they do not have the materials to do so, so please help give these students all equal opportunity.
Students will create various different projects designed to get them thinking creatively. I will distribute the materials at student lunch pick up zones, in order to get materials to the students that are in most need.
