What are the benefits of learning how to perform in front of an audience? How does it assist students in being successful? Students who participate in the fine arts are more likely to be successful in their mainstream academics. With theatre, students are able to work on memory skills, social interactions, and are exposed to a wide variety of cultural plays and elements. There are numerous benefits to the performing arts that are often times overlooked in favor of academics.
Our students are passionate about what they do; they do nothing half way.
Many of our students have been doing theatre for their entire middle school career, but we also have several students experiencing the joy of theatre for the very first time. Watching the impact that studying theatre has had on these students is nothing short of incredible. These students are dedicated to growing this program and maintaining excellence in all performances.
My Project
As we head into a new school year full of unknowns it is important to look at the safety and well-being of our students. The air purifier and filters will be used to help my students and I to have clean fresh air in our classroom.
One of the struggles that I see every year is the need for writing utensils.
Students are always needing something to write with and with sharing being discouraged this year, the more supplies the better.
Additionally, as a theatre teacher, I am hoping to be able to do live performances again, but to do so safely will require a few extra tools. One of those is mic covers for our lavalier microphones. This eliminates the worry of germs spreading from actor to actor as we can change out the mic covers after each performance in addition to cleaning the microphones themselves.
