This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are full of some of the biggest and brightest smiles I have ever seen. I have some of the most eager and excited children I have ever had the privilege of working with.
My students bring so much joy, and happiness to those around them.
They are full of so much energy and love. My students like to move, they love to work on iPads, they love anything Minion related, and they love learning. Many of my students are are being raised in single parent households and are homeless. All of my students receive a free breakfast and lunch based on their socioeconomic status.
Although, my students may face challenges preventing them from getting ahead early in life they never let this stop them from succeeding. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom we focus on their potential and growth while they are at school. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day and make it the absolute best it can be!
My Project
This year is unlike any other. I am asking for your help to provide my students will all of the supplies they need to be successful while learning virtually.
We know that for five and six years old it is crucial that they are given a hands on learning oppurtunity.
Due to the current situation we are in this is not possible in the class room. I am asking for your help to make this possible for my students!
I am hoping to be able to provide my students with materials to help will all fundamental skills that we learn in Kindergarten. Number lines will make a huge difference when it comes to anything math related. It could be just finding a number, 1:1 correspondence or addition and subtraction numbers lines will make all of these skills possible. Letters and white boards will help with all the essential reading skills. We will use letters not only to help build words, but also to help us sound out or learn our sight words. I know that together we can make this school year a huge success!
