Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a public, inner-city magnet school in Bridgeport, CT. Our school emphasizes multiculturalism, in which students learn about other cultures while also appreciating their own background. Our school includes over 45 different nationalities! My inquisitive, ambitious third-grade scholars are consistently trying to learn as much as possible.
My Project
This year, I will have students coming both in-person and staying at home for distance learning. We will also be unable to share materials as we have in the past because of COVID-19 concerns. For this reason, we will need flexible seating to allow students to sit outside when weather permits, dry erase materials that we can reuse time and time again, as well as thermometers to check student temperatures in the morning. The goal of this project is to have students learn more safely than they could have without these materials.
These resources will help my students to learn more easily even with all of the added challenges of hybrid learning!
These resources will allow my students to learn outside, and to have their own individual materials, therefore not spreading germs. This will benefit my students by allowing them to be outside, where germs are less likely to spread through the air. It will also allow them to use individual dry erase sheets as whiteboards to make learning more interactive despite all of our challenges.
