This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students at BES are fervent about reading. Majority of my students are independent in selecting reading materials. These students have no boundaries in making reading choices because they are curious to know more. We are looking forward this school year to explore financial literacy: why we use money, saving, spending, giving, needs, wants, and debts.
Additionally, we are in desperate need of reading materials that are related to self care and how to be responsible in the prevention and protection from viruses like the COVID-19.
My Project
COVID-19 has stopped the world from its ideal existence and the book titles will be a great source of research in connection to viruses and disease. Students will have access to the material at school and at home. It will be a great opportunity for my students to study in depth the origins of viruses and diseases. And also learning their responsibilities to protect and prevent the transmission of viruses from one person to the other. In addition, they will be exposed to career paths that could motivate them in choosing opportunities as future scientists where they could invent affordable and common treatments.
