Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from lower income families. Most of my students are in single parent homes, only one parent working or neither working. They are living as multiple families in one apartment or multiple families living in one single family home. Most come to school without school supplies and without anything to eat. I am providing most of their basic school supplies and daily snacks. Most students are on free or reduced lunches. Their parents do not have the means to help in anyway. They are so sweet and bright. I want to help them in any way possible.

My Project

We lost our last 9 weeks in school so we need some extra support for our students to reach their fullest potential for the next grade level. These interactive journals and daily practice will be extension activities to the teacher aided activities for our online learning. Our first graders are motivated continue their learning so they are ready for 2nd grade. As their teacher, I will be able to better prepare lessons with these activities for on line videos as well as in person learning when we are able to return to school.
