Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our Title I school is found right in the city of Jacksonville. My classroom includes children from different walks of life, cultures, and races. They are strong-willed, passionate, caring, enthusiastic, and have a drive that will continue to carry them to great things.
My students are my greatest teachers.
They teach me daily what it is like to be resilient even in the most unique situations and circumstances. My kiddos come to school ready to learn, and eager to listen.
My Project
Due to COVID-19, many teachers are aware that our students will need extra support in the grade they are entering. These games will give the students opportunities where they can play and be rewarded all while actively learning.
I plan on using the social studies and reading board games as reinforcement of the learning objectives taught in during class lessons.
The items on this list will also allow students to enjoy social interaction while playing the game and earning rewards. These games and folders allow for that "fun" thinking which instills a drive to win and a better outcome in the children's individual retention of the topics we are learning. Any folders purchased will be used for early finishers to practice individually or with a partner at their seat or extra practice in the classroom with the teacher. These activities will also allow students a fun way to help each other through peer support.
