Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students love to read and learn. Its exciting to see them reading and come running to me to tell me about something they love in the book. They are always wanting to tell me of the adventures and that one day they want to be like the character in the book.

I teach at a Title I school and I love it, but when it comes to resources or books for my students it comes out of my pocket most of the time.

Our resources are so limited that we stretch what we can, and buy the rest to make sure our students get what they need.

As I was growing up and in school the demand for integrating small group interaction wasn't there. In my class I try to provide awesome books and fun activities for my students to learn from. My students deserve the very best when it comes to providing growth in their reading skills.

My Project

The reading materials that I am requesting have a very special shelf in our classroom. The books allow my students to find a special place in the classroom to enjoy reading them. The read along books will help my students who are auditory learners.

The donations that we receive for this project will foster a deeper love for reading in my students.

They really love to read and I am always finding new books that will peak their interest. My students love Flashlight Friday that allows them to read a book of their choice. I could really use the help in making this project a reality. Thank you!
