Help me give my students a better online virtual school experience by helping me illustrate concepts and take notes right along with them during my math lessons by using a document camera and Smartpen!
My students come to school each day from a wide variety of backgrounds, settings and abilities. As they enter each morning, those differences fall away and they all become eager, enthusiastic and excited to see what's going to happen and where the lessons will take them as we begin our day. My co-teacher and I work hard to bring the world to them, one topic at a time, with a focus on involved learning, deep questioning and solid math and scientific skills.
Reaching each student at their level to ensure they are successful, is always a challenge.
Learning to support each student has become goal number one for us. We want each student to come to school knowing they will be successful each day. That's not always an easy goal, but we are learning. We are finding what works and what doesn't. We are looking at our students as individuals and trying to see their needs. We are trying to find the time in each day to specialize our content for each child. We are trying to connect on a more personal level and find what makes each student click.
My Project
Though we are working from home, that doesn't mean we aren't still making progress and moving forward. Middle school is looming large for our sweet 5th graders and we want to send them off as prepared as possible.
This document camera and smart pen will transform our virtual lessons in to true learning sessions by helping us have interactive, involved lessons with our students.
Note taking is a huge part of math and of our preparations to help send our 5th graders to middle school as sharp as possible. When the schools closed, so did our access to a lot of the technology we used to keep our lessons interactive and exciting. Please help bring back some of the magic!
